Editorial method
Follow the source. Keep the limits.
Each profile links to the sources behind its factual statements. We separate research about an ingredient from information about a finished formula.
Three kinds of evidence
- Published research: we describe the formulation and question studied. Where only an abstract has been reviewed, we say so; we do not imply a full-paper review.
- Dermatology guidance: we preserve the scope of the advice, including the skin tones or conditions it discusses.
- Brand information: official product pages support formula facts. Marketing outcomes and customer reviews are not independent proof of effectiveness.
What a product profile means
A profile describes a formula and its relationship to the ingredient index. It is not a claim that we tested the product, that it is the best option, or that it will produce a particular result for you.
Before publication
Factual fields and their sources go through editorial review. Missing information stays missing rather than being guessed.
